Description—>

Its used to treat external eye infections such as conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers. It is also used for otitis media including chronic suppurative otitis media (chronic inflammation of middle ear and mastoid cavity) and otitis externa (external ear inflammation/infection of the auditory canal).

It works by—>

Killing the bacteria that cause the infection.

Health advice—>

  • Discontinue use and inform your doctor if you experience signs of allergic reaction.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery as you may have blurred vision after using the medicine.
  • Avoid excessive exposure to light to prevent photosensitivity.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • It should not take if patient is
  • allergic to ofloxacin or any other quinolones or any of its ingredients.
  • It sholud not given to children less than 6 months old.

It’s Usage (Kindly consult your physician before usage) —>

Oral
Community acquired pneumonia:
Adult- 400 mg twice daily for 10 days.

Pelvic inflammatory disease:
Adult- 400 mg twice daily for 14 days.

Complicated UTI:
Adult- 200 mg twice daily for 10 days.

Parenteral
Complicated UTI:
Adult- 200 mg daily by i.v infusion over atleast 30 minutes, max. 400 mg twice infused over at least 1 h.

Septicaemia, lower respiratory tract infection:
Adult- 200 mg twice daily by i.v infusion over at least 30 minutes, max. 400 mg twice daily infused over at least 1 h.

Bacterial corneal ulcer:
Adult- 0.3%, 1-2 drops every 30 minutes.

Ophthalmic
Bacterial conjunctivitis:
Adult- 0.3%, 1-2 drops every 2-4 h.
Child- >1year, 1-2drops every 2-4 h.
