This medication contains atenolol and losartan as its active ingredients. Atenolol acts as beta blocker which works by inhibiting certain receptors in the heart and blood vessels. Losartan acts as angiotensin II receptor antagonist which works by inhibiting the action of Angiotensin II which is responsible for the contraction of blood vessels. It results in the dilation of blood vessels which further lowers the blood pressure.
