Norfloxacin is used in the treatment of adults with urinary tract infections, both uncomplicated (cystitis) and complicated urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea), genital infection, prostate infection (prostatitis), infections of the stomach or intestines (travelers’ diarrhea) and eye infection. It acts by inhibiting bacterial deoxyribonucleic acid synthesis and thus, killing the bacteria.

WORK MECHANISM–>

Norfloxacin belongs to class of drugs called flouroquinolone antibiotics. Norfloxacin inhibits bacterial reproduction by inhibiting DNA formation, thereby killing the bacteria.
