Description:-It is used in the treatment of immune diseases like mild to moderate systemic lupus erythematosus. It is also used in women with adrenal insufficiency, aging skin, weak bones (osteoporosis), decreasing symptoms of menopause and depression.

It works by:-Restoring the blood levels of 5-dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (5-DHEAS), which is released naturally by the body and is typically low in women having systemic lupus erythematosus or elderly women.

Health advice:-Do consult your doctor before taking dehydroepiandrosterone, if you have a history of heart problems; low blood levels of ‘good cholesterol’ (HDL); diabetes; liver or kidney problems; prostate cancer or an enlarged prostate gland; cancers of breast or uterus; or any mental disorder.
